"Weatherless"

As I say we don't actually get weather in NYC. It's always grey tepid, and windless. Same in winter now grey tepid, no longer cold mostly windless. The only real weather we've had was "Sandy". Nothing since. Sure perhaps a quick rain storm or a passing snow event. However these just last literally minutes, and are then gone.

There was something on the weather channel about it. Mind you yes a storm surge is in our cards like last time with Sandy. The river rose up 20 feet in much of lower Manhattan. Flooded, and wrecked everything. Otherwise day to day,...nothing. It's like being in a shut up room. There's my shut up rooms below to illustrate our Bizzaro situation.

Btw note my Zen emptiness. Since early summer I've been getting rid of the crap that accreted all over the place. Besides the few bits of furniture it's empty. I'm down to 10 boxes. ...plus laundry. More than enough to show for a life.

Also part of it is that if homelessness ever happens again I'm ready. I just walk away. Though my family sez they'd never let that happen. They said they wouldn't have let it happen in the first place if I had said anything. Having been out there is like having been in an unpopular war. If by chance you come back. No one wants to hear about it. It is very like having been in a war. You're in danger every moment. This changes one. So I expect it to come again. I think part of my letting go of things is a kind of getting ready. Though clearly it probably will never happen again. Still one has a need. Sorry to bring it up,...it's just been with me again.

Hey I'm fine. Regular infusions of Curried Chicken Dr. Pepper doing cut out paper art, and really bad science fiction novels have put me back in the pink.

I know I shouldn't watch, but TV especially local TV's reaction to our latest massacre is typical for the times. In a nutshell as I just watched:

"Are Mass Shootings good or bad for the country?"
"...what do you think? Call our hot-line # at..."

Yeah not literally that, but close enough. For Comic relief we have the Secretary of State calling the Resident in Chief a "Moron". With that hours of serious debate by talking heads on the subject.

Gimme a break of course he's a "Moron".

The whole world, and two thirds of this country say so everyday. All this to show how stupid dumbed down the media has become.

That, and the endless deranged play grounds for fanatics. Namely the information platforms like the one you're on right now. We were better off with three networks, and three or four local channels,...we were so much smarter when we had to think for ourselves.

I love the old media. Top 40 radio playing fucking Little Richard the Beatles. Great rational, and or insane talk radio. Kid's TV shows that showed classic 1930's 40's cartoons, and taught basic morality. As opposed the surreal in a bad way murderous selfish static they crap out now.

News programs, again there were three national, and zillions local that at least 'tried' through their bias to tell the truth. That, and the commercials were stupid, and funny. As opposed to stupid, and insidious.

Btw yes I do go to the Library more often now. It's one of the last islands of cultural sanity...threatened though they are. I so recommend them while they last. If your card lapsed no problem they'll make you a new one on the spot...five minutes.

As long as these neat places are around there's Hope!

"It's All We Have"

I'm trying to live a normal life in war time. Yeah the wars have come home. Actually they did that decades ago. It just wasn't in the faces of the white middle class,...so it wasn't happening. Like was said long ago by the 1970's Black Panthers while they we're being exterminated. "What they do to us now they'll be doing to you in 50 years."

They were just about on target.

The collapse of the American standard of living the change in the geo-political map the ethnic demographics changes of not just this nation, but around the world has set loose social chaos. If you know history this happens from time to time. Especially when Empires are in decline, and others are edging in to take their places.

This will be the story of the 21st century.

Add radical planetary climate changes profound technology advancements no one is ready for into the happy stew, and you have what we've got. So think globally, and the big picture starts to gain focus.

A person setting off a bomb tied to his chest in Iraq a child soldier fighting in any of a dozen different countries a former IRS/Postal worker shooting 500 people killing 59 of them in Vegas robots, and AI displacing livelihoods of whole populations,...yeah it starts to make a scary, but not unexpected sort of sense.

The ant hill has had yet another rather large culture shifting stick shoved into it. That, and we're all riding massive seriously fast continental drifts that won't quiet for another 100 years or so,...then another stick.

Till then we have each other.

The long term solution is to be kind as best we can to each other within our circles. Like pebbles in a pond they'll radiate outwards to the world. Annoying new age bullshit at it most typical, but it actually works. ...and it's all we have.

We must each of us in our own way learn to be Saints, and Prophets in Hell.

"A Professional View"

A professional objective view from a peacenik, and a "company" man. Years ago at that radio station I was sentenced to. I had a conversation with a friend who was a military analyst. We discussed in a hypothetical how to best deal with say a room of persons having a meeting.

I personally was thinking of a certain Management, and their clique of butt kissers.

However officially this private operational discussion was for an overseas objective. This conducted by an arm of our federal government. As I recall we accomplished our objectives in 40 seconds with a minimum of hardware, and attention.

...in, and out.

What happened in Vegas was typical of a desperate seriously insane enraged betrayed fucked over civilian with access to military grade weaponry. Far too much of this going on. Sloppy wasteful non-goal oriented blood baths.

I really hate amateurs.

Murder for political or financial gain is best left to the professionals. They mostly just kill their own. This sort of now common blood lust is evil, and will only stop when it becomes bad for business.

So far it's not.

As a dear Comrade reader posted in comments this is the fall of an Empire. Yeah that's exactly what Vegas aka "10/2" was. The fall of an actual Empire. Though reality show Nazi fantasying America as usual is too stupid to know it. Unlike them Russians who knew the game was up when the red flag was hauled down from the Kremlin.
We still don't have a clue. For that we'd need something like the cable going out or pizza never delivered again.

Then we'd know something was serious.

The natural masters of the known world China is awake so all we need to do is just hang on till they make us their slaves. Then everything will be pretty much okay. Sort of like when we took over the world for a while after WW2. Heck to be nice they'll even re-boot our cable limited internet maybe, but certainly jump start our pizza delivery. Knowing our Bizzaro Demented customs they'll let us keep our guns,...which are useless against them, and their cheap flat screen TVs, and fast foods. They may even stage mass shootings to entertain the world with.

"The Realm of Heavenly Paradise" takes naps from time to time, and lets the barbarians think they're in charge. Well they, and their endless army of cyber dragoons slaves, and public relations battalions will be here soon so there's hope.

That, and me being an old guy I'll get all sorts of creds,..."respect" for still being alive. Them guys is funny about Elders that way. Americans love their guns, and don't care what it costs to keep them. It's a stew of religious ideological sexual fantasies. Well to some "Fantasies", but to them real as the ground they stand on. They'll latch onto any ludicrous excuses to justify the warm happy feeling they get knowing they can if seriously provoked,...kill people.

I saw on a YouTube video man draw on gun on a black person standing behind him in a store to buy something. He turned pulling his gun frisked him then left. He was clearly terrified that the person being black was of course a criminal. It's only by chance he didn't shoot the innocent customer.

This is what guns do this is what social fear does.

No it's not going to stop. There could be an incident where 1000 people are shot...why not we're now up to 500 at a time now. That could, and will happen and still nothing will change. Americans love, and want their guns, and will keep them no matter what. 500 1000 2000 dead.

They don't care.

There could be a compromise. Make all types of firearms just $20. each. However make each round $3,000. each. $25,000. for automatic weapons rounds. This should satisfy the sexual religious racial ideological urge to have a gun. It would also make each shot more than count.

Maybe not.

A whole school full of little children was slaughtered, and they still would not hear of any controls over who can have automatic weapons. They'll make their fear rage driven excuses, and keep their guns. From the point of view of American culture, and history this is a race problem. Like inner city gang warfare is a "race" issue. White men are surrounded by those they profoundly hurt. They know this, and in some unspoken way know there's a payment due.

Their guns they think will protect them from history.

It will not. It will no more protect them from that than it has protected them from their jobs going to the Pacific rim. They went there btw because they keep voting for the people that enabled their former employers to send them there.

"It Gets Better"

I was very ill today so missed the fun. Now I hear it 500 shot down in the street, and 60 dead,...so far. This for those of you of an age will recall was the typical weekly body count of American troops in Vietnam.

Yes yeah the American underclass of all flavors, and colors is going insane. What with seeing their, and their families future vanish in the new economies. These are bitter betrayed very desperate people. 'Armed' desperate people. So they just start shooting. It mostly don't matter who gets shot so long as they get shot since everybody is guilty.

I sometimes feel somewhat the same way. However being a touch civilized I just watch cat videos till the feeling passes.

Clearly the solution as is traditionally said is, "more guns." Watch you bet the NRA will say this at some point. Any other somewhat rational country would say, "That's fucking it!!" "We don't care what you think we're taking your guns. All of them!" That, and send out the damned Army to do it. Btw watch as the armies of Trailer Trash evaporate before an armored division.

Yeah I call these low life yokels "TT" because I'm officially racist against them as of,...let see,..., it's 9:42pm,....eh,...now. Right mark that down. I want them forcibly disarmed, and shot dead if they refuse. This is how insurrectionists are handled all over the world,...ask any surviving 1970's American Black Panther.

"Hollow Point"

So dear comrades we begin the new week, and new month with another mass shooting. 100 gunned down twenty of them dead,...so far. We 'are' in a Civil War. For now it's just angry words or punches. However sometimes it breaks out into bullets, and death.

Still sorry for the folks shot up this time in Vegas. I mean their families, and all. However like I sez these dummies run around with machine guns all the time this shit is just going to keep happening.

With the Holidaze on the horizon I expect much more of this smoky madness. Black Friday I fear will be blacker that usual this year. Hint shop on-line you'll live longer.
