"Our Republic"

Two comments from another page I go to. 
One about the report that sez voter turn out will be at a 100 year high,...near 70%. The other about the violence that may happen no matter which side wins the 2020 election.

The polls cannot be believed. They should not have been by the republicans in 2012, and the dems shouldn't believe them in 2020. Both said each would be a shoe-in. Not. So vote as if your life home, and family depended on it. The other side will most certainly be doing this. 

So yeah I buy a vast turn-out. It will be close no matter what they say. However remember no matter which side wins. The country will still be hatefully divided. Half the population will feel as if they're in a country occupied by they're most hated enemy. 

If the republicans win,...likely by Electoral College again. There 'may' be rage possibly violent...esp. if by the College,...again. If the Dems win the red caps 'will' be violent. #45 has stoked this for four years. Lives will be lost. Where we go from there depends on what the winners do to re-unite us. 
Given the deep hatreds I do not believe the republicans will even consider such a thing. 
It looks at best dicey for the survival of the Republic as we knew it.

*(A comment was made that if there is violence Antifa...the anarchist anti-fascist militia will fight #45's Confederate, and Nazi terrorists.)  

We've already normalized the idea that each side has an army. 
The Proud Boys for #45, and Antifa for the left. I want neither. Because both are a danger to the Republic. They're existence sez so much about where we are now. These are literally Vigilantes. This country has a bloody history with such groups. 

That we may favor one or the other changes nothing. It just codifies our hatreds. We need to think such things through. Groups like these just don't go away. 
They metastasize into profoundly evil things.

Such are the times we live in.
