"Andy's Gang", staring an otherwise swell character actor Andy Divine. Anyway this pile of horrors scared the bleeping shit out of me. What with that Demonic frog appearing out of nowhere, and that cat so clearly tied up, and playing the cello. If Kafka ever produced a kid's show that would have been it.
Besides that Demonic frog thing aka "Froggy". "Midnight the Cat" was always on hand to give the 4 to 8 year olds pants crapping thrills. "Midnight" the crypto racist named cat was usually tied to a bass fiddle. His paw with a bow tied to it, and very visible strings yanking the whole cruel mess this way, and that.
All his on a dark set.
The whole thing was always under lighted. Also always the same children in the peanut gallery. Always. Footage they shot once to stick in when needed for the whole of the two or three years it was on the air. Someone should finally write a book about that profoundly strange show. "Andy's Gang" was one seriously scary pants crapping nightmare producing fucked up piece of weird shit.
Never watch it on acid!
