"...winds"

Overcast grey gloomy today till afternoon. A big downpour then the Sun. The sun with brisk winds blowing through the city. Spring winds.
We are at the very edge of two strong seasonal powers. They will contend to the end. However Spring will eventually win. Winter can console itself in that it will eventually come back.

"...juice"

An idea whose time has at last come. A sleep over library. It's across the ocean, and the subway stops short in Queens. Still it's there. Shakespeare, and Company in Paris has been taking in boarders also for decades. It's just I didn't know about this one.

Gladstone's Library in Flintshire U.K., see vid below is doing the deed. I'm now btw a regular Brooklyn main branch,...see above top, library maniac. Still no nice rooms for live in reader researchers, but give them time. It's quiet has pleasant brilliant helpful staff.
That, and the whole of human knowledge is pretty much a step or two away. One could get used to such.

*

Did I mention their croissants, and orange juice.

"Wet Walk About"

Went out today. Freezing rain sleet. Still it was good to be roaming about with everybody else. Ever notice the things folks carry in the rain? There's a dissertation in that somewhere. As for me I just pushed myself out the door.
Shoulder bag full of books a camera, and the rain.
I like wandering in the rain. I think most do.
Go out today, and do so if you're anywhere wet.
I stopped at the Brooklyn main branch library. Sat had orange juice, and read for a few hours. Went over the Brooklyn Museum. It's just up the block from there. There's a David Bowie thing happening. It's on through July go if you can.
'Be back later.

"Surprise!"

More Spring Snow. I guess this certainly proves that the Liberal Communist Lesbian Cannibals were wrong! There is 'NO' Global Warming. This here settles it.

I had to back out my kitchen window Fiat-Snow-ometer.
This after I'd put it into off season retirement.

Again!

"London Calling!"

I'm not sure what this means. Perhaps in the context of the fall of the West it may make some sense. London has for the first time since records have been kept out paced New York City in it's Murder rate.

It's increased 47% in the last year. Excluding terror attacks. NYC's murder rate has gone down 87% since the wild west 1990's.
During the Crack Wars the number of killed in NYC was around that of the first years of the Vietnam War. 3000+ were killed, and an unknown number wounded in 1993.

I remember this era well. I was a radio engineer at the time, and went off duty around dawn. I'd stay at the station till rush hour was well running. I never tried going out while it was still dark. It was not really unusual to happen on a wounded victim or even a corpse in those days. This sounds outrageous today, but that's just how it was then.

"...Pagan"

I was going to wear my full dress uniform to Easter Mass this morning. However thought what the bleep.
I might get mixed up with them "Knights of Columbus" guys.
They're into uniforms too.
These are extremist far right Catholic nutters.

I wore a suit instead. I'll put the uniform on for the Pagan Mermaid's Parade at Coney Island.

"Church"

So I went to Church. I didn't ignite either. Yes my old Parish Church Saint Matthews on the Parkway. I spent many dark years in that place. The school, and the church.

Still it had it's moments.

Like the time that statue of Saint Teresa of Avila moved, and spoke to some of the girls in my class. The church doesn't like personal revelations. They prefer things go through the main office.
Well the bishop came the whole deal.
The girls, and the whole class was told to shut the hell up about it,...and we did. It was our own personal "X-File". I love a Mystery.

There she is above 50+ years older. ...not talking today though.

In any case there I was in the womb of Holy Mother Church. The pastor said as how it was both April Fools, and Easter on the same day. Hadn't happened in 62 or so years. He went on, "...so let us all be fools for G-d" I can't argue with that.

I was struck by the faith of the congregation. I haven't witnessed such in some time. Granted it was the traditional Catholic cosmology in play. However they Believed. Not a doubt other than mine in sight. I was moved.

Btw I even dressed up.
I never do this for anyone or anything. However today was different.
I went to see an old friend. She was still there, and just as patient as ever.

Now that I look at it again. I would have made a good looking lawyer.

"Well okay your Honor so my client built a Hydrogen Bomb in his basement. Still ya has to admire his craftsmanship.
Eh,...if not his intent."
