This is a very bad era for us as Americans. We despise, and hate each other on a tribal visceral level. Much as during the lead up to the Civil War the Civil Rights era, and the Vietnam War. It's everywhere. Now even in the few peaceful bubbles online.
I just came from a flame war on a classic TV/movie site. Guess what that war flame bath was about. "Little House on the Prairie".
Seems the author, Laura Ingalls Wilder, of the original books hated Native people. Spoke well in her private journals of their extermination.
So her name was removed from an awards prize for literature. This ignited a Confederate statue style flame war,...neither side gave an inch.
Hatred name calling mutual contempt. There is no shelter here from it anymore.
We are two nations now. Locked in tribal hatreds.
I say again we're actually fighting over "Little House on the Prairie" now. It no longer takes much to set us at each other.
I'm too damned old, and pissed off for this dark madness.
