One is amazed that so few generations later. So many have forgotten what the Nazis were. What they did, and what it took of the whole world to stop them.

The Russians haven't forgotten. They lost 20 million at least in WWII (& I've heard it may have been a lot more). Commemoration is a very big deal there. But in our education system, history has gone the way of geography.
