"...3-D"

A FB Comment, and an answer.
Claude Horvath: Calvin and Hobbes had a cartoon in which Calvin puzzles about how all the old photos show a black and white scene, while artwork shows color. His father explains it as being because of craziness back then. Or, something like that.
Sidney Smith: Exactly. They had 3-D stuff back then, but thought it was a potential tool of the devil,...that, and bad taste so tossed it. Took another 100 years to figure it out again digitally. They used strawberry jam honey ground copper, and steam to make their color holograms. We went another way as you know.
