"...fuck faces"

"Hylas and the Nymphs" got the hook from gallery exhibition because of the ongoing sex hysteria. At least they didn't burn it,...this time.

It was the 14 year old Nymphs that freaked them out. Actually they look twenty or so. The age of "children" keeps going up. Reminds me of when they painted over all the cocks...or as many as they could reach in the Sistine Chapel.

Below from the UK Guardian:

It is a painting that shows pubescent, naked nymphs tempting a handsome young man to his doom, but is it an erotic Victorian fantasy too far, and one which, in the current climate, is unsuitable and offensive to modern audience.

Manchester Art Gallery has asked the question after removing John William Waterhouse’s Hylas and the Nymphs, one of the most recognisable of the pre-Raphaelite paintings, from its walls. Postcards of the painting will be removed from sale in the shop.

My dandy reply:
Well I say fuck these book burning fuck faces to fucking hell.

Also I dunno. I think I like the 19th century immediate pre--modern art era. It was so full of colorful naked angels, and repressed horniness. ...it was quaint.

None of that Pollack stuff to worry about.

His shit looks like someone threw up 10 boxes of Crayons,...and Gin!

Speaking of art. I first saw Pollack's stuff when I was nine, and my Mom took me to the museum. When she said we were going to a "museum" I thought we were going to see some dinosaurs.
In retrospect I should not have been disappointed.

However that piece they had by that van Gogh guy was cool.

The Victorians - the fucking VICTORIANS - are now not prudish enough to please the modern English-speaking world. Are they channeling Oliver Cromwell or what? It seems everyone now has excrement between their ears.

Fuck faces indeed! Here is some of my favorite art by Jake and Dinos Chapman. Let them stick this up their asses:

Well I must say,...eh,...ahem.

Very interesting pieces.

Just the sort to put in the Mets front window at Easter!

These masterworks should stand in for the painting until it’s restored to its rightful place. I’m sure they will appeal to the delicate sensibilities of the critics.

Jackson Pollock was the CIA’s favorite painter - just look up their history of promoting Abstract Expessionism for Cold War propaganda purposes. He was also adored by the critic Clement Greenberg, the Man Who Killed Painting (as Greenberg’s bio should be titled, IMHO).

I always felt that work of Mr. Pollack's sort was an inside joke on the art market. It worked, and led to piles of literal trash from garbage cans being sold for big bucks as "art".

Actually taking money from posers, and plutocrats is fine with me.

It's just that since it makes so much money that's all that's being done. Modern Art was once a breath of fresh air blowing away all the dreary crap that preceded it. Though now after over 100+ years 'it's' become the dreary crap that needs blowing away.
