I used to dismiss pain as nothing noble. "Pain is just fucking pain nothing more" I would always say, and mean it. However on further reflection, and as my pain physical emotional spiritual continues. I see that pain our many kinds of suffering makes us who we ultimately are.
We are what our pain, and our reactions to it makes us. Is there a nobility in that after all? As or if I live longer I'll try to see.

Er.. I hope we don’t have to find out all about the meaning of pain any time too soon. Personally, I’ve learned all I want to and am happy to languish in comparative ignorance more or less indefinitely.
