Most of the lingering heated values of the 20th century will be gone soon. This of both the extreme right, and left. Not that anything will be settled. Not that these two extremes will make peace with each other. The culture wars will just peter out as it's warriors get old, and younger folks don't pay any attention. History just moves on to other things.
We'll take up other obsessions, and immoveable positions.

I’ll have a really big margarita, followed by tequila with lime and salt, also extremely large. Then a sangría, ditto. Then a generous helping of Harvey’s Bristol Cream, followed by ample quantities of Tokay, kahlua, sweet vermouth and whole lot of Grand Marnier. That should be enough to get the party started. What need to worry about hangovers when there’s no tomorrow?
